Mr. Tom Holloway, Honorary Member (Advisor) of Council of U3As in Nepal visited Kathmandu during January 2009. During his visit, a small discussion program was organized at U3A Kathmandu office. The discussion agendas were (i) world conference in 2009 and participation of Nepal, (ii) agendas to be presented in the conference, (iii) scaling up of U3A activities in Nepal, and (iv) coordination with various other organizations.P On September 2 , 2008 Mr. Hem Raj Lekhak, Vice President of Council and Mr. Jeevan Raj Lohani, Honorary Member met Secretary of Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, Mr. Punya Prasad Neupane at his office in Singhadurbar, Kathmandu. We briefed him about U3A concept, the progress made so far and also shared the findings of Seminar on Population Ageing and Development organized in GBSSI, Allhabad. A report can be found here. Mr. Ram Hari Pant has facilitated the formation of 5 u3a groups in chitwan district with involvement of more than 150 members in total. There is a report on their initial meeting here....
